Grwoing up my siblins and I would come home from late mass on Christmas eve and bake up a batch of warm cookies for Santa. Then as we got older it was a time to catch up with everyone (there are 7 siblings). Now my siblings do the same thing with their children.

We make a Happy Birthday Jesus cake each year with our niece and nephew and plan to continue the tradition when we have our own kids. Helps us remember what the holiday is about on Christmas morning.

I remember when my daughter was around 4 yrs. old, upon waking up on Christmas morning, she ran to the tree with the just arrived wrapped packages, and screamed "Happy Birthday, Jesus!". That moment still warms my heart today. She is 40 yrs. old now. We always open our gifts on Christmas morning, ate a big breakfast and someone would read Luke 2 about Jesus's birth. Love it!!

My favorite Christmas tradition is our annual Christmas Breakfast wiht the neighbors. We are very close with our neighbors, we have all lived on our "end" of the block since I can remember...so we have breakfast together as a "neighborhood family"!!

A favorite Christmas tradition is buying little gifts (hand lotions, soaps, gloves, etc.) and handing them to the drive-thru workers at our local McDonald's or putting a special little care package in the mailbox for our mail carrier. I love to GIVE at Christmas!!!
