Faith of a foodie...so, this is a new segment for me! Every Sunday I will write a little something about my faith. This week, I wanted to start out with a challenge that I have taken on this year.
I will be reading through my entire Bible this year...I have never done it. I tried last year and failed miserably. You see, my relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life. In a world where everything is shaky, He is my Rock. I want to know Him more, and the only way to do that is to spend time with Him. Time in prayer and reading. How can I say He is my everything if I can't even focus on Him each day.
I will be reading through the Bible chronologically. I bought a Bible just for that, but my mom shared with me a great resource, http://www.bibleyear.com/ . You can pick your version and how you want to read through and it sets it up for you. I believe you can even set it up as your homepage.
So, what do you think? Do you want to know Him more, too?

Thanks Kate...already have it bookmarked!!
I'm doing chronological too..cause when I can't do it on the computer...I have a chronological Bible that I can read from...so I'm covered 2 ways....
That pretty much leaves me with no excuses...huh????
Wish me luck...and I wish you luck!!!
"Faith of a Foodie"... I love it! I too, am reading through the Bible chronologically :) God is our Rock and our source of comfort and strength. Love this new Sunday post...
Katie, I am so proud to know you. I am reading again this year. Not so faithful with every day last year but I want to this year. I do not want to stand in front of my Saviour on judgment day and not be able to say I didn't read His Word.
Katie, I too have had a hard time staying focused on my Bible reading last year. Just can't seem to get past the month of February.
Thanks to you and your blog I have started to use more coupons, am trying to cut my food budget. I am setting some different goals for my life this year and am hoping to be able to obtain some of them. I really like the fact that you are willing to share your love for Christ in your blog. I am sure that He will bless you for it. Keep up the great work.
Katie,
I am also reading the Bible through this year chronologically-I was unsuccessful last year. I am always grateful for the new year and a new chance to start fresh!
For others who may have been unsuccessful in Bible reading this past year or maybe for those who feel faithless right now, just remember..."The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are NEW EVERY MORNING; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:23
If you get off track you do not have to wait again until next year; each new day is a new start! -kimery
