Packing the Pantry

This was my second week eating from the pantry. It has proved to be much easier than anticipated. I am not even going to eat half of my pantry this month, so I am considering doing this quite a bit more often. That said I did get quite a lot of stuff this week, but it was all very cheap or free.

Meijer was my big trip this week and I spent a total of $8.62 for everything shown. The funny thing is that when I totaled up my "non-sale" items that I needed, they were $5.68 alone...which mean I only paid $2.94 for all the other stuff. That is pretty good in my book! Oh, my savings was $70.29 or 89%!!!!! I also got a $2 of my next order coupon!

I went Kroger to pick up 2 Gatorades and 2 Bird's Eye Steamers and spent $.60. I also went to Aldi for cheese, bananas, eggs, milk and spent $5.62. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the stuff.

My total spent this week was $14.84, and I put $25.16 into the cow fund!

WOW...that's fantastic!!!

You are lucky to have alternative places to get groceries.

We have an Aldi...but it's kind of out of the way...so when I go..I get LOTS of stuff and stock up...I hardly ever make a weekly trip...so 99% of my groceries are bought at Kroger.

This week I got $150 worth of groceries for $70...not near as good as you did...but I bought quite a bit of meat!!

And again...I may not hit Kroger for a big trip for about a month...just stop in for milk, and sale items!!!

So in the end...maybe it averages out...that's what I tell myself anyway!!!

I probably don't even have to say it... I'm green with envy over your savings! :) You are rockin' the cheap/free stuff this week, girl!!! At this rate you'll be able to get your cow by next week :P

I did the same thing at Meijer's. They had lots of free or next to free items. Of course, what I purchased looked a lot like what you purchased. LOL.
