Every experienced gardener knows that you must protect your plants from pests. You can plant a huge garden, but if you fail to do this one thing you probably won't reap any produce.
I know because I have experienced the frustration of the pests who feasted on the fruits of my labor.
The same is true in our lives...we have to protect ourselves by daily putting on the armor of God. I am afraid that the pest in my garden was my cute little puppy, Samson! He is so cute and sweet that I didn't want to believe that he would do something so rotten.
The thing is, Satan is the same way. He comes seeking to destroy our hearts and minds. We have to be prepared to fight this battle. If he came around undisguised and showed his nasty self we wouldn't fall for his traps as easily. Instead, he comes in the form of a cute little puppy seeking whom he may devour.
