August Freezer Cooking

I am starting my week off right...stocking the freezer! I have my Nikes on and I am listening to some good music. What fun my kitchen and I have together...

I can't tell you how nice it is to know that I have meals in the freezer that I can just pull out and eat! I thought I would blog a little about this cooking day...so you can see how I go about it.

Whenever I talk to someone about coupons, menu planning, and freezer cooking...this is where the most interest seems to be. I guess everyone is busy, everyone wants to save themselves time, everyone is interested in saving money, and the list goes on and on.

The first thing I did was make a freezer inventory so I knew what I had on hand and what needed to be used up soon.

After I detailed it all out I got to work!

I browned a lot of meat...

I had way too many pots going on the stove. I put on some yummy beef cabbage soup! Oh, and I realized that 4 pounds of beans is too many for one stock pot. You see, when the directions say you need 6 cups of water per pound of beans...they mean it. Now I have two pots of beans on the stove!!

Last but not least I chopped and I diced lots of stuff!!!!

SO, I better get back to work, but I will be back with pictures of the final products and a list of everything I got done!
I share all of this because it is a great time of year for you to do some freezer cooking. The kids are going back to school, there seems to be stuff every night...and freezer cooking makes meal time a lot easier!!!
Are you a freezer cooker????

The soup looks soooo good!! I have plans to do inventory later but yes, I have been trying to have meals in the freezer. I love being able to pull out meat with marinade already on it as well. To me, that's a huge step!!

Kimi, you are right even just meat in a marinade saves a ton of time. I feel like any step you take will help!!!

The forms you use are really cool!! Where did you get them?!

Kimi,

I printed the off at www.lifeasmom.com and www.moneysavingmom.com.

They both have an assortment of printables for freezer cooking. I am workign on making my own...I will post them when I get them done. I guess everyone goes about it in different ways, so I had a hard time finging pre made form to fit my needs.
