Freezer Cooking with Chicken: Sale at Kroger

Have you all noticed the lack of meat sales lately?

Here in Cincinnati, Kroger is running boneless skinless Chicken breasts on sale for $1.79/lb.

That is my rock bottom price, so it is stock up time! If your freezer is getting low on meat like mine...than you better head to Kroger!

You could just put the chicken in the freezer, but why not try your hand at making some chicken freezer meals. Save yourself a little time in the long run...

I have compiled my chicken recipes that freeze well...in case you need a little inspiration!

Chicken Tetrazzini

Parmesan Garlic Chicken

Chicken Chimichangas

Chicken Tortilla Soup

Zesty Barbecue Chicken

Monterey Jack Stuffed Chicken

Honey Lime Chicken

Orange Teriyaki Chicken

What is your favorite meal to freeze?

Wow, thanks for the list. I freezer cooked with chicken two week's ago when Kroger ran the same sale and I scoured your blog... But there were a few I missed.

We LOVE the parm garlic chicken, and the chicken chimis.

I also make chicken noodle soup to freeze, I just leave out the noodles and freeze the soup, then on serving day when I am warming up the soup, I throw the noodles in. :)

I love to freeze Chicken Cordon Blue - raw tho, that way all you have to do is take it out and pop it in the oven and your good to go!

My Smiths store had the same sale (they are a Kroger store). I poured marinade over some of my chicken breasts so they will be grill ready (if it ever warms up here).

Those recipes sound great...every one of them. One of my stores had boneless, skinless breasts on sale for $1.19/lb a couple of weeks ago. I stocked up but now you're making me wish I'd bought more!

Julie,

WOW! Here in Cincinnati I have NEVER seen boneless skinless for less than $1.67/lb (and I have only seen that price a few times). You are one lucky lady!!

$1.79 is a good price. I don't see it that low where I live in PA. My buy price is $1.99. Next time I stock up, I'll have to refer to some of your freezer recipes.

Thanks for linking up to Kitchen Economics. Could you include a link back to the KE post? Thanks, I appreciate it ;) Hope to see you next week!

Family Balance Sheet,

It's neat to hear everyone's rock bottom prices...oh how they vary across the US.

Sorry, totally forget to edit the post and add that. Fixed!
